Children Ministry
Welcome
Highland Kids is a loving and warm environment where kids love God and worship Jesus!
We partner with parents in raising children to love Jesus, love like Jesus, and have a biblical worldview.
Sundays (11:00 am)
We have worship for all children that includes praise songs, offering, and prayer. After worship, we have four classes:
Toddlers (1 - 2 years)
PreK (3 - 4 years)
K - 2nd grade
3rd - 5th grade
Classes are led by volunteer teachers and based on curriculum materials from The Biggest Story by Crossway.
Fridays (7:30 pm)
Join us for Bible studies, games, and fellowship activities on Fridays for all children!
Pastor for Children
James Shin was born in South Korea and raised in the Chicago area. Having studied at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Moody Bible Institute, he is currently an ordained minister in the PCA.

What Did We Learn Today?
Lesson & Passage
Big Fish, Bigger Mercy (Jonah 1-4)
Summary
We learned about the prophet Jonah. God told Jonah to go to the city of Nineveh and warn the people to turn from their sins. Jonah didn't want God to forgive his enemies, so he ran away instead. But God sent a great fish to rescue Jonah and gave him another chance to obey. When Jonah finally preached in Nineveh, the people repented, and God showed them mercy. We learned that God loves to forgive sinners who turn to him. Jonah's story also points us to Jesus. Just as Jonah was in the great fish for three days, Jesus was in the tomb for three days before rising again. Jesus died and rose again so everyone who trusts in him can be forgiven and have eternal life.
